Territorial contract as an instrument of supporting of regional development

Summary/Abstract: The article presents a question of practical aspects of territorial contract as an instrument of regional development policy. The implementation of territorial contracts in Polish self-governed practice at the regional level is a result of territorial approach as one of the principles of EU regional policy for 2014-2020. Territorial contract is designated for the correction of efficiency and the coordination of development policy territorially directed, the integration of spatial and socio-economic dimension, but at the same time it enables to strengthen the government-self-government partnership. Its scope is an outcome of the negotiations led among the government of the Republic of Poland and self-government bodies of individual voivodeships. However, it is too early for real effects of the realization and the comprehensive evaluation of territorial contracts. Time will turn out to be the best verifier of all government assumptions and self-government expectations in this respect.
