Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the paper is to link students' sense of belonging to a place of studying with the image of academic center. The considerations were carried out in the context of cities development and the acquisition of their valuable resources, such as university graduates. In the empirical part of the paper the author presents the results of a survey concerning the image of Rzeszow (the capital of Podkarpackie Voivodeship) among the students of Rzeszow University of Technology. The conclusions were indicated on this basis, regarding the propensity of young people to remain in studying place
