Summary/Abstract: For many years offshoring was perceived as a source of financial benefits from locating production sites abroad. It was mainly because of low labor costs. However, offshoring is not always as beneficial as it seemed to be. Higher transportation and environmental costs, the limited flexibility, the risk of losing control over offshore locations or being accused of not fulfilling CSR requirements, cultural differences ‒ these are bad sides of offshoring. In the times of crisis the arguments connected with cost become especially important. Does it mean that the times of offshoring are over? This paper is aimed at analyzing pros and cons of offshoring. The article gives some advise how to avoid the threats of offshoring.
