Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present “slow” motivation (its nature and key concepts) that may contribute significantly to the process of implementing the philosophy of sustainable development and building social awareness in an organization. “Slow” motivation is oriented towards incessant development of professionalism, professional, social and personal competences, it supports their sense of power, self esteem and the meaning of work (which has an impact on employees’ wellbeing). It opens people’s creativity and proactivity, fosters the sense of passion and flow in the workplace. It is one of instruments of building involvement of members of an organization, and thus of civic behaviours. Improving motivation (designing the motivational system, enhancing motivational professionalism, forming motivational filters) related to the “slow” orientation supports aspects and implementation of aims which are important for sustainable development and corporate social responsibility oriented organizations.
