Transitional grammars in the light of the cognitive modeling of early linguistic ontogenesis

Summary/Abstract: The present paper dwells on certain rational ideas broadly exploited in the current models of language ontogenesis. It further focuses on the cognitive paradigm as an explanatory theory of the early acquisition of grammar. An attempt is made on the basis of the Model of pre- and proto-morphology to trace the advantages and options of applying cognitive linguistics for the adequate interpretation of transitional grammar types of early child language.
