Summary/Abstract: In this world of innovative digital technologies it is crucial to use them as much as possible for the benefit of humans. Although information technologies create many comforts for humans in their everyday life, they also some how affect human health. Watching body posture of people while they are studying or doing any work holding the same posture for a long time, we will notice that when engrossed in studies or work, people do not pay attention to safe body posture, which is so crucial to human health (including position of the spine, knees, as well as neck and hands when working with computer). Unfortunately, we witness cases of bad body postures very often in our everyday life and if we keep on sticking to this bad habit, we will face serious health problems in the near future. First symptoms of such serious health problems are fatigue and inability to work. It is very important to do physical exercises regularly and whenever there is such need. Now, we would like to invite you to the virtual world of Microsoft Kinect solution that supports movement and voice recognition technology. One of the most specific features of this device is that it supports hands-free control system and responds to human body postures, ovements and voice commands, thus creating a rather real environment for human-computer interaction. The given research has as its objective to study the existing solutions for posture monitoring and create conceptual system supported by Microsoft Kinect technology, which will help people doing sedentary work follow the rules of ergonomics, as well as to reveal the deviations, offer respective solutions and feedback. The use of Microsoft Kinect solution will create a great potential to bring incredibly positive changes for healthcare and will be especially beneficial to people who are doing sedentary work.
