Summary/Abstract: Erica Pedretti, one of the most sophisticated, contemporary writers and artists from Switzerland, shaped by the traumatic memories of the World War II, is focused in her autobiographical writing on the possibility of the 'mentioning' of the past. In this way it is possible to obtain images of both, her personal history and the fate of her family, as well as contemporary history. This paper is an attempt to analyze her debut work „Harmloses, bitte“ (1970) which returns to the past as a broken thought, fragment and reveals the struggle with the expressing of the painful experiences
