Summary/Abstract: This article sheds light on Witold Gombrowicz’s relationship with Alicja de Barcza (née Liphardt) and his German translator Rudolf Richter (aka Walter Tiel). Zybura’s research is based on their yet unpublished correspondence, part of the bequest of the German Slavist Heinrich Kunstmann (1923-2009) held at the Willy Brandt Center for German and European Studies at the University of Wrocław.
