Research in language in the media after 1989

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the most important pieces of Polish linguistic research on language in media written after 1989, mostly monographs and theoretical texts. In the discussion they are described in three ways. The first one deals with topical fields treated by researchers as important or characteristic for media communication; the next one describes particular subsystems of language and fields of their linguistic analysis. The last one is determined by specific kinds of linguistic discourse in media, typical of particular technologies.
