Parameters of the distribution as a tool of the classification of objects in the microscale

Summary/Abstract: In the article the author presented three approaches to the classification of objects according to the level of diagnostic variables with using of parameters of the distribution. In the first approach the objects were classified by means of quartiles, in the second approach - order measures of central tendency and dispersion, and in the third approach - classical measures of central tendency and dispersion. The quality of these classifications was evaluated by comparing them to the classification obtained by means of taxonomic measure of development. The statistical data concerned the companies from IT sector listed on Warsaw Stock Exchange in 2009
