Efficiency of hospital founding changes

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to provide an assessment of the relative efficiency of general hospitals, funded by the National Health Fund in 2007-2010. In 2008 there was a change in the hospitals financing system, resulting from the implementation of the uniform system of Patient Groups (DRG). Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Malmquist-DEA index were used to evaluate the relative effectiveness of the NHF branches. The models used allowed an assessment of the technical and scale efficiency. The decomposition of Malmquist-DEA index allowed to identify the causes of productivity changes.
