Summary/Abstract: Among all the miraculous and fabulous creatures of the nature, in the Romanian Mythology the not highly educated peasant that created it, proves to be extremely productive when creating feminine demons, obscure representations of the mountains, forests, lakes, or fields. Although we cannot really demonstrate that women representations of the Romanian demonology are more numerous than the masculine ones, we certainly intent to convince that they are by far much more articulated and diverse, much more individualized and easy to recognize. The explanation would be that they are representatives of that hidden-dark part of the sacred world, scaring, inventive, surprising, and having the limitative aim to chain the human freedom.
