Summary/Abstract: In Greek and Roman mythologies we will find many examples of suicides but in Romanian mythology, and Slavic mythology as well, they appear sporadically, because of the inheritance of several mythical and religious precepts from Thracian and Dacian ancestors and maybe because of the impact of Christian precepts on a people that adopted Christian faith as early as the fourth century. We deal with a number of aspects regarding suicide, in terms of the collective mind and a theoretical separation of suicide into selfish, anomic, fatalistic.
