Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is, after the presentation of the essence of risk management and the role of audit in the risk management process, to demonstrate the methodological and organizational determinants of choice of solutions to support risk management through audit procedures and on this background to characterize the extent of this support by information technology used in the traditional audit and in the innovative solutions, including the ones presented by the author of the article.
