Controlling in public institutions of higher education – the outline of the problem

Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the problem of using of controlling in public high schools in Poland. As multi-product firms high schools require different methods in the management process. The primary data are taken from CSO statistical information published in Szkoły wyższe i ich finanse (“Higher Education Institutions and their Finances”). The remuneration with charges have the biggest share in the cost structure of public high schools in Poland. The usage of DEA method in the research of efficiency in public universities is presented in this article.
