Summary/Abstract: Mainstreaming occupational safety and health (OSH) in education is, at European level, an essential component for the development of risk prevention culture. This enables everyone, teachers and children alike, to learn how to live and work in a safe and healthy environment. The educational staff must be acquainted with the national regulations on safety and health at work, and must be aware of the risk factors in the working environment in order to prevent risks at workplaces. An educational institution must be a safe and healthy working environment both for the staff whose entire activity takes place in schools and for the students and others who enter the organization, so as to be a safe and healthy place, suitable for education.
