Summary/Abstract: The main goal of this article is to present the Polish beef market after the accession to the European Union in the context of foreign trade in beef. After the accession to the EU an increasing tendency in trade in beef products is being observed. The rise in the export was possible thanks to the significant reduction of the domestic consumption which contributed to the improvement in the Polish self-sufficiency in the production of beef. In addition, Polish beef products have gained a price advantage on the EU market. In the analysed period Poland was a net exporter of the majority of beef ranges of products, the production of the veal fell by almost a half, whereas the production of beef grew significantly (by about 17%). The growth trend in trades in beef products was accompanied by the relatively slow cattle breeding concentration process.
