Summary/Abstract: The main goal of this article is to present the Polish poultry market after the accession to the European Union in the context of foreign trade in poultry. After the accession to the EU an increasing tendency in foreign trade in poultry products is being observed. This was possible thanks to good quality of Polish meat and prices of meat lower than the average EU price. In the analysed period Poland has been a net exporter of the majority of poultry ranges of products. In the last decade, a slight increase in the poultry stock, the double increase in its production and a significant increase in exports of poultry products have been observed. The most popular assortment in export was poultry meat (in particular, chicken meat). At the same time there was an increase in the concentration of production of live poultry, while average production cycle was shortened and broiler dressing percentage was improved.
