Summary/Abstract: The present paper argues that although the problem of contradiction is particularly important within the domain of human sciences, a close examination of its function within the main methodological options has not yet been undertaken. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to provide an overview of a possible investigation into the function of contradiction in explanatory models of human sciences.
