Summary/Abstract: Human eggs trafficking are a lucrative business, even more than prostitution. This is the reason why there are real networks involved in eggs and/or surrogate mothers trafficking. The traffickers send pretty, healthy young women to donate their eggs for very little money. Afterwards the eggs are sold, for much larger amounts of money, to couples resorting to in vitro fertilization services. The donors' average age is 18 to 30 years. They come from dysfunctional families or are students from rural areas, with a poor financial condition. Surrogate mothers are extremely sought for, particularly by infertile couples from Western countries, with a good financial situation. The persons who offer themselves to be surrogate mothers are women with a poor financial condition and a low education level. Unfortunately, these women do not take into account the risks they expose themselves to and the potential harmful consequences of the medical procedures involved.
