Summary/Abstract: This paper is about the role of International Criminal Court (ICC) in prevention of crime of genocide. After the introductory remarks, the article explores historical background to establishment of this international criminal justice mechanism, its jurisdiction as set forth in its Statute, reflecting upon jurisdiction over genocide, complicity in genocide, incitement and conspiracy to commit genocide. The paper deals with war crime trials being conducted before the International Criminal Tribunal for Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), which had become important factor of general prevention to genocide in the World. The article also briefly touches upon the trials for genocide being conducted before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Eventually, in the light of its judgement of 26 February 2007, the paper deals with the role of International Court of Justice in the case Bosnia and Herzegovina v. Serbia and Montenegro for genocide.
