Exploiting digital resources in teaching

Summary/Abstract: We live in a constantly changing world, which is determined by the extremely fast evolution of technology. The digital era is present in almost all aspects of our lives. School should prepare young people to be able to adapt to these changes, but, more important, to work in the world of the future. Thus, the teaching and learning resources available for students should be dynamic and in a constant evolution so that their requirements are met. The goal of this study was to highlight the place and role of new media in the teaching process. We conducted a questionnaire-based survey and the results have proven that there is a need to adapt the Romanian education to the contemporary social reality. The communication means of new media should be used to support teaching in the classroom, but, at the same time, students should be equipped with those skills that enable them to look for, select and exploit information outside the education system.
