Summary/Abstract: One of the most interesting phenomena of the linguistic research is the dynamics of linguistic systems. The present dynamics in the Romanian vocabulary has been studied from different perspectives. Therefore, our paper aims to contribute to the presentation of the main methods of vocabulary enrichment, but focusing on the derivation process. The great amount of used foreign terms proves that Romanian is a flexible and “welcoming” language. Our main reason for choosing this topic is the personal interest in studying the language phenomena. Lexical innovations represent a very complex phenomenon that hasn’t been fully studied. Therefore, at the present moment there are just a few studies that provide data on this subject.
