HOW/WHAT TO TELL TO MAKE THEM LISTEN OR THE CZECH CATHOLIC CHURCH SETTING AGENDA IN THE PUBLIC SPACE

Summary/Abstract: This study explores whether the Czech Catholic Church has conceptualized issues relevant and potentially interesting for the majority society and also whether it has been coming up with successful strategies to set the agenda in the public space. It also discusses the role played by lay people in this process. The goal of the study is to verify whether the position of lay Czech Catholics has changed over the 50 years since the publication of the Lumen Gentium constitution and what role they are supposed to play in the Church’s “battle” with the majority society in the process of setting and pushing through the Church’s agenda.
