Summary/Abstract: An essayist, writer and political analyst, the author – of Romanian origin, living in the US, and former head of the Romanian department of Voice of America – pertinently comments on three books: Daydream Believers, Short History of the Future and The Case for Democracy. Apart from the differences between these books and their authors (Fred Kaplan, Jacques Attali, Natan Sharanski), the three writings are relevant for the panopticum of today’s culture, highlighting the sometimes paradoxical games between fiction and reality, the two being interchangeable from time to time.
