Summary/Abstract: The publication raises the question of the different aspects of one of the most dangerous forms of XXI century violence - Female Genital Mutilation. This bloody custom is treated in many modern countries as part of the tradition of local communities. Although the issue focuses on African countries, migration may cause it to become a problem for European countries. Medical aspects of FGM focus on the known methods of the ritual and its health consequences. The issue of social circumcision comes down to identifying the habit and the relationships with religion it often relies on. FGM is also presented in the form of a collision occurring in international law and human rights, as on the one hand there is the right to cultivate habits and cultural identity, and on the other hand, it is a violation of the right to physical integrity, and the prohibition of torture.
