Planning and implementation of preventive health programs in view of the health risk factors

Summary/Abstract: Effective prevention activities should be based on real needs of society and awareness of health risk factors. The study identified the risk factors, major prevention and health promotion documents, as well as the level of funding of health programs in Poland. Despite the presence of these issues in strategic documents, their implementation is not guaranteed. It is recommended that health programs should be closely correlated with the needs of health risk factors. When deciding on the allocation of health care resources, its scarcity forces prioritizing of health risks and is the basis of the effectiveness in health care.
