Summary/Abstract: Television today is a visual spectacle designed to attract the greatest possible number of customers. Genres such as the talent show, makeover show, and talk show resemble a form of ludic performance, guided by the element of competition. They create a media reality, which, on the one hand, attracts viewers to games and play, and, on the other, encourages consumption. TV entertainment delights the viewer and shapes the consumer. The act of making a positive impression is transformed into the act of purchasing an object, in which the connotative layer is intensified by the meaning previously assigned to it by the media.
