Summary/Abstract: Divan poetry, which mostly belongs to the sufi discourse, is filled with multiple meanings and is often hermetic, thereby being harder to understand for the contemporary recipient. For the interpretation of this poetry it is necessary to set a suitable model in which a focus point is reserved for the mystical-religous aspect of analysis of each single verse. In the poetics of the divan poetry, where special place belongs to the literary form of ghazel, the antithetic figures and the metaphor are prevailing. In the subtext of bayts, they are constructing a specific binary structure. The poet in the sufi poetry sets a unique philosophic pattern of understanding the universe and human through the binary principle according to which each element represents a double quality of opposites that in the end make a unity. The example of this analysis is given in the ghazels of Ahmad Khatem Bjelopoljak, whose poetry in Persian cannot be understood without the analysis of its deep levels.
