Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of grain balances in 1925/26—1940/41. These balances are the most important documents to determine the real level of grain production in the USSR. The paper shows that, although the biological yield was used in balances at the end of 1930, these balances could be easily cleaned from the additions.
