Summary/Abstract: The article examines the results of the experimental investigation of diphthongs syllable accents in the Marijampolė sub-dialect. The quantitative features of acute and circumflex diphthongs were subjected to experimental analysis. The results of the experimental investigation of Marijampolė sub-dialect are compared with the parallel researches in Šakiai and Prienai sub-dialects. According to the results of the investigation, the acute diphthongs are longer than the circumflex ones to the ratio 1,21 : 1. The clearest difference between the acute and circumflex diphthongs is realized in the first component of diphthong. The first components of the acute diphthongs are much longer. According to the importance of the quantitative features of the syllable accents Marijampolė subdialect stands in the medium position between Šakiai and Prienai subdialects.
