Summary/Abstract: Architecture is the art of planning and designing buildings. It is defined as an ensemble of philosophical features and cultural values as much as it is described by its structural elements or decorations. This article aims to discuss the theory that architecture communicates through a specific language. Every building has a history and every façade tells that history. In order to understand this system of communications, we need to identify the elements that define it. For many decades, architecture has been seen only through an aesthetic perspective, but its connotative functions exceed this initial analysis.
