THE CRISIS OF REFUGEES FROM NORTH AFRICA AND MIDDLE EAST – CONCERN FOR EUROPEAN COUNTRIES?

Summary/Abstract: In the absence of a concerted effort to eliminate the causes, the conflicts strolling or reactivated in the last few years, have made the European Union confront with an unprecedented wave of refugees in recent history. During a period of society radicalization, xenophobia and islamophobia, in many European countries, this situation has raised numerous questions regarding the danger represented by them to the European continent security and stability. The article proposes an analysis of the objectivity and the validity of these concerns, as regards both the danger that the terrorist groups infiltrated their members, as well as about the risk of terrorist attacks and the increasing crime rate in the medium and long term.
