Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the issue of the origin of language and the role of a human society from different standpoints. It emphasizes the interdisciplinary approach to the resolving of the common origin of all languages. Several theories and methods are also mentioned. De Saussure’s idea that the language is a closed system whereas no sign is defined by its own features but rather by those that distinguish one from the other had elevated a greater interest in the issue of the common origin and the evolution of language, which, according to De Saussure, has no age. The issues of both genetics and grammar gene are also discussed. The language is linked to the sounds of nature as well as both social and cultural changes and impacts. The paper provides an insight into language families, phylums and their relationship. The Indoeuropean phylum and German languages are further interpreted.
