Summary/Abstract: The most important attitude of all is the employee’s attitude towards their job. This attitude is called job satisfaction and can be defined as a complex individual’s reactions to its work. Job satisfaction is a complex attitude that involves certain assumptions andb eliefs about the job and the job evaluation. Job satisfaction as well as commitment represents one of the most researched topics in the field of organizational behavior. In order to analyze behavior of employees in public enterprises at the level of local community, following research has been conducted. The main goal of the research was to determine influence of control and demands at work and quality of management on job satisfaction and organizational commitment in organizations in municipalities Kresevo and Kiseljak. Also the intention was to analyze possible differences in job satisfaction and organizational commitment among members with different socio-demographic characteristics (age, sex, educational level and type of organization). The survey was conducted trough questionnaire and a QPS Nordic survey of psychosocial factors in the workplace was used as a base as well as the scale of job satisfaction, scale of organizational commitment and scale related to intention to leave the job. The survey covered 167 people from following professional areas: education, health, police, administration, production, sales, and service industry. The survey results showed that the strongest predictive value of job satisfaction is with variable related to quality of management. Quality of management proved to be a significant predictor and criteria for organizational commitment, while control at work showed significant only for job satisfaction. Job requirements are not proved to be a significant predictor. An analysis of demographic variables showed that the strongest influence on job satisfaction and organizational commitment has a variable related to age. This study confirmed the results of previous similar works and the resulting conclusions may serve as a contribution to future studies of psychosocial factors at the workplace.
