Familiar compounds present in the Romanian language

Summary/Abstract: The compound nouns belonging to the familiar register of present-day Romanian are shocking combinations of words which reflect various aspects of reality in an exaggerate manner. Of the two elements of the compound, the second has a qualifying, expressive value. The terms are metaphorical names of activities specific to the economic, socio-political, legal or commercial domain. The press has a decisive role in promoting these lexical creations of which many have already entered the colloquial language.
