Some Additions to the Biography of the Czech Physicist August Žáček

Summary/Abstract: In the broader context of and connection with earlier published articles about August Žáček (1886–1961), Czech physicist and professor of Charles University, the author adds and corrects information pertaining to his native town and family (parents and siblings), his studies (elementary and secondary school, university and study in Germany and Sweden), his career (development of his scientific interests, publications, habilitation and professorship, rise to the leading position in the Institute for Physics of Charles University, membership in professional associations and science academies), but also various details of his private life (marriage, material situation, and activities in the last years of his life after a forced departure from the university in February 1948).
