Summary/Abstract: Many manuscripts of Bethlen College history have been preserved to the present day. This study attempts to take stock of these. Chronologically fi rst arose at the beginning of the 18th century, the Latin work of Ferenc PápaiPáriz: Illustris Collegii Betleniani Albano Enyediensis Origo Progressus, which gives the historyof the college from its founding until its destruction in 1704. It also publishes Pápai’s correspondence regarding the scholarship of Frankfurt am Oder. This work of Pápai is preserved nowadays in Bethlen Library in Nagyenyed. The next history of Bethlen College was written byGyula István Szigeti and József Inczédi, complementing the work of Pápai. It remained two copies of the college history of Vásárhelyi Tőke. Károly Herepey, who was aprofessor was the fi rst who had written the college history in Hungarian language and presentedthe events until 1716. Finally, the study examines how Bod`s church history had used certain passages of Pápai`s history.
