Innovation ecosystem in view of open innovation paradigm

Summary/Abstract: The goal of this paper was to present a concept of innovation ecosystem and assess its main features in view of open innovation paradigm. Innovation ecosystem is a dynamic; purposeful community of organizations and individuals that cooperate and compete creating complex interactions based on collectivism; trust and complementarity of technology or competence in creation of value added. Despite the fact that this concept arises form a paradigm of open innovation; it has fundamentally different assumptions and therefore exhibits alternative forms of organization; creating value and performance of innovation activity. Research procedure was based on literature review and comparative analysis of both concepts.
