The construction of the railway transport in the Socialistic Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (In the wake of an anniversary: 70 years from the construction of railway Brčko – Banovići)

Summary/Abstract: In several chapters dedicated to the construction of certain railway roads, this paper treats the question of the dynamics and results of the processes of industrial reconstruction of Bosnia and Herzegovina after the World War II. Aiming to enlighten the role of the railway transport on the postwar period soil of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which starts to build up itself as a socialist society after the liberation from the occupying forces, the author pays a special attention to the history of the construction of the railway Brčko-Banovići, which this year celebrates seventy years of its existence; railways Šamac-Sarajevo and Doboj-Banja Luka, as well as their position in the overall socio-economic transformation of Bosnian-Herzegovinian society in the Socialistic Yugoslavia.
