Summary/Abstract: The employees employability increased tendency highlights the new nature of the conflict of employers and employees interests. The text presents the empolyability paradox essence and explains the conditions under which; according to the author’s opinion; it is possible to deal with this inconsistency. The study is based on the analysis and synthesis of the content of the concepts: “employability” and “competency”; a critical analysis of the competence-based strategic management principles and the De Wit and Meyer’s concept of the paradox synthesis. The findings also provide new elements to the famous Prahalad and Hamel’s concept.
