Summary/Abstract: Based on a corpus of over forty different poems, the paper deals with various aspects of epic heroic personality of Alija Djerzelez and this is justified by the fact that the hero is the most important element of epic narratives. Epic plot within Krajina epic poetry surpased classical forms and according to Schmaus, it evolved into epic. The plot which is so complex required from a hero much more than plain simplicity. In a larger corpus of poems, we can find something that moves away from stereotypical display. Therefore, apart from previously spotted mythological, there are also dimensions related to family and Krajina. These three separate sets of qualities provide me with a possibility to state that we are dealing with dynamic and not static character. This character simply develops in the same way as his closer and further relatives from written literature, novels in particular. It was highly interesting to spot the sophisticated techniques of transformation of mythical Djerzelez into Krajina hero within the poem about Bećir-bey’s wedding by Halil Bajgoric and to see techniques and procedures of his spatial and symbolic transfer from forgotten center into ultimately interesting edge of the Empire. After all those adventures in our areas, our hero has nothing else but to face the center of himself in the poem Gerzelez Alija in th collection of poems by M. Dž. Kurta.
