Summary/Abstract: Globalization, turbulent environment and higher customer requirements pose new challenges to organizations. International and intercultural relations are a necessity. With these contacts there is a need to have new skills and competencies of managers, which enable them to effectively manage cultural diversity. It is cultural intelligence. Cultural intelligence is an individual skill in function and effective management in an intercultural environment. It allows a manager to know and understand a different way of thinking, to tolerate diversity, to be flexible and to reduce communication barriers. Cultural intelligence is not only limited to interactions across national borders. It can also concern the relationship between diverse (different culturally, ethnically, demographically) workplaces. That is why it is a very important feature of a manager which is necessary for developing their effectiveness.
