Summary/Abstract: Many years ago I was intrigued when I found out that in Pristina was a renowned researcher, a historian who spoke fluently the Greek language and focused his work in the Greek-Albanian relations, especially in the period of creation of nation states, our national renaissance. So, I could not withheld myself form asking Shkëlzen, what has driven him to a research in a such difficult language as Greek, considering that there was no such tradition in Kosovo or interest in this field. He said to me then, that the history of Albania cannot be studied and especially the period of Renaissance and of Independence, without recognizing the Greek archives documents and publications of Greek authors. I agreed with him, as I fully agree with him today, when our institutions are missing more and more specialists - Hellenistic, Latin, Osman, Roman and Slavic specialists. I recall here that the scientific activity of Prof. Raça is based on proper research in archives and libraries in Greece where he is found materials very important for the history, language and culture of the Albanians, which would otherwise remain closed and unknown today. I recall only one emblematic case, the discovery of prof. Raça in 1983 of the second full version (40 pages) of "Evëtarit" of Naum Veqilharxhi in the library "Gennadios" in Athens, a library with exceptional importance for albanological sciences.
