Mourning and its Impact on the Spiritual Heritage of Përmet

Summary/Abstract: Death as event and enjoyment at the same time has provoked very strong emotions to humans. This emotional experience has been conveyed and transmitted to the present day through the kind of folk, mourning (with weeping and mosques), which is plowed in all Albanian regions. In this article I have introduced this miracle of our ethno culture, which although in it-self carries the dramatic emotions, in the cultural and emotional aspect, it contains irre-placeable and very special values. The emotion provoked by these events as dramatic and as shocking for their lives, has made in the region of Përmet, this genre of Albani-an iso-polyphony to recognize more specific developments in its form, ranging from the archaic forms that are "wailings", continuing to its highest development with "Kabanë". Wailings with their structural forms, give us a very valuable contribution to strengthen-ing the many theories about the antiquity and continuity of these collective traditions of the indigenous population in these areas. The importance of this paper is not only to bring in our memory trends and creative skills of our ancestors, but also to help us at the same time see clearly their taste and sensitivity provoked by painful events of our daily lives.
