Initiatives for suistainable road transport

Summary/Abstract: The article describes possibilities of implementation of principles of sustainable development in road transport. Three ways of reducing pollutants emission from vehicles are presented: introducing 1. emission norms, 2. promoting ecodriving, 3. introducing additional paymants for new cars buyers. These ways are analysed as an aspect of environmental protection and as an additional cost for a car owner. Moreover the article estimates the development perspectives of currently used methods of reduction of pollutants emission from cars.
