Summary/Abstract: Bible translations, all Bible translations, can be pictured as a bridge. Through this simple image, we can, I believe, envision a process that oftentimes seems impenetrably complex. As the basic purpose of all bridges is to accommodate travel between two points over otherwise impassible terrain, so translations of Scripture join us – whether we are 21st century English-speakers or 2nd century readers of Latin – with the Semitic world that produced the Hebrew Bible, the Tanach.....
