CONTRIBUTION OF MULTINATIONAL CORPORATIONS TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF ROMANIA

Summary/Abstract: In the global economy, multinational companies represent one of the most representative factors of the contemporaneous economic progress. Within the international business environment, one of the major phenomena of special intensity that manifested in the last years is the increased power and size of multinational companies as well as the diversification of the consequences of their activity on the host countries and on the mother countries. The competitive advantages from which multinational companies can presently benefit depend directly on the specificity of the country where they carry out their activities. A company’s multinationality or transnationality level is an attribute of the international expansion and not a sequential type state characterized by evolution phases in a company’s development. The multinational corporations have un essential part in the international expansion and in the process of globalization.
