DIRECT RESEARCH ON THE PREPARATION OF THE ENTREPRENEURIAL STRATEGIES IN THE CROSSBORDER REGION OF RESITA

Summary/Abstract: The characteristics of the economic environment have a very important role in the development of the entrepreneurial sector in the region. This environment can be stimulative (specific to a market economy) or restrictive (typical of centralised economy). If before 1989 in Romania there was an attempt to annihilate the entrepreneurial spirit, starting with the '90s, under conditions of the transition to a market economy, the development of the entrepreneurial sector became an important component of the economic restructuring policy, which influences in a positive way the rhythm of the sustainable economic growth. Thus, against the background of the gradual development of the entrepreneurial sector in Romania, as a result of the development of a favourable economic, political and social environment, and at the same time with the awareness of its importance in regional economic development, the stimulation and development of SMEs became a priority in the economic development of each region. The differentiated degree of development of this sector at regional level was strongly influenced by a series of local factors that boosted or hindered the process of emergence and development of SMEs, but especially, the way in which entrepreneurs have managed to seize the opportunities offered by that specific space.
