Summary/Abstract: The article entitled Building a Common Memory as fostering a solid image of the European Union beyond the Frontiers aims to present the ethnical and confessional tensions which existed during the history in Transylvania between the Romanian and the Hungarian community. This border area was known as one of the most troubled regions of Europe concerning ethnic and religious conflicts, insomuch that the ideological and social systems that ruled the region during the last century were not able to remove the existing tension between the different ethnic groups.
